Regardless of the setbacks and challenges presented to them, Korean Air continues to move forward. They do seem to have a willingness to look at their failures and learn the lessons from them. This enabled them to rise from the proverbial ashes twice.

To this day, Korean Air is a strong and vibrant company after having risen in the late 1960s. As with other companies that began this new century, this airline saw a reversal of their image and professional opinion. They continue to receive awards that they deserve and expand their business on all fronts.

Plagued by a number of accidents in the 80s, and 1990s, Korean Air Lines has since recovered. International media was alerted to these incidents especially during the 70s. This image was very hard to reverse in the 1990s. Their international reputation as a reliable passenger carrier has since been greatly improved. The reputation of the company was greatly enhanced after they implemented several capital investment and other aggressive programs to successfully alter their bad image. Today they enjoy a prestigious image around the world with passengers and organizations, alike.

In 2010, Korean Air, in keeping in line with their already established reputation as a premier cargo provider service, saw several important new developments. A new terminal for cargo operations in Uzbekistan opened up in the summer of 2010. This is slated to develop into a new cargo point of travel with scheduled flights to many places including Italy. A new branding development, between StarCraft II and Blizzard Entertainment, was also in the works. An interesting development with this company is that they also posted record earnings. This would indicate that, despite their announcement of second-quarter losses, they overcame this financial problem.

Korean Air has long been involved with research and manufacturing for the aerospace industry. They plan to continue to expand in this area because it is one of their strong points. Creating a variety of licensed versions of aircraft, Korean Air Aerospace Division's research department continues to be strong. Two of their more well-known aircraft are UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters and the MD-500. Along with other types of military aircraft, this company also has similar manufacturing projects that are licensed. Going beyond providing domestic flights, Korean Air has branched out to the military.

Entering other segments of the aviation industry, Korean Air Lines works sometimes in very specialized areas. They have a distinct advantage in that area due to their long involvement with aerospace research and development. This airline is an excellent example of what really is not so unusual for a lot of similar airlines. This company has survived very challenging times through many unexpected events. Currently, this business is not only operating but is improving each and every day. Much of their revenue has been generated through the research they did with aerospace. This company hopes to develop solid research relationships with the United States and other airline companies.
